🚀 Getting Started

The Inroad Engine analyzes your Centers of Influence (COIs) to find warm introduction opportunities hiding in their LinkedIn network.

Here's how it works in 4 steps:

  1. Submit a COI's LinkedIn URL — Go to New Analysis and paste the LinkedIn profile URL of someone in your network who could refer you business.
  2. AI scans their network — Our engine scrapes their LinkedIn activity, comments, reactions, and engagement patterns to identify who they interact with most.
  3. Leads are scored — Each person is scored on 5 dimensions: ICP Fit, Warmth, Authority, Activity, and Strategic Value. You get a ranked list of warm intro opportunities.
  4. Request intros — Click "Request Intro" on any lead. It opens your email client with a pre-written message to your COI asking for the introduction.

📋 Understanding Your Reports

Each report shows the results of one COI analysis. Here's what each section means:

Lead Score (0-100): The overall fit score. Higher = better opportunity.

ICP Fit: How well this person matches your ideal client profile. Based on their title, company, and industry.

Warmth: How warm the relationship is between your COI and this person. Comments = strongest signal. Likes = moderate. Reposts = strong.

Authority: Title seniority, company size, and buying power.

Activity: How active they are on LinkedIn (more active = easier to engage).

Strategic Value: Long-term referral potential. Could this person become an ongoing source of introductions?

Client vs Referral Partner: "Client" means they could buy from you. "Referral Partner" means they could send you business.

👥 Managing Your Leads

The Leads page shows all scored prospects across your reports. Use the action buttons to track your outreach:

✉ Request Intro: Opens your email client with a pre-written message to your COI. Customize the template in Settings > Intro Request Email.

👍 / 👎: Vote on lead quality. Helps us improve scoring over time.

✅ Requested: Mark when you've sent the intro request to your COI.

⏭ Skip: Mark leads you don't want to pursue.

Use the filter buttons at the top to view leads by status (New, Intro Requested, Intro Made, Skipped), then export the current view to CSV when you need to share or work the list offline.

✉ Setting Up Your Intro Email

When you click "Request Intro", it opens your default email client with a pre-written message. To customize this:

  1. Go to Settings > Intro Request Email
  2. Enter your email address (so mailto links know which account to use)
  3. Customize the message template using these variables:
    • {coi_first} — COI's first name
    • {coi_name} — COI's full name
    • {prospect_name} — The lead's full name
    • {prospect_first} — The lead's first name
  4. Click "Save Email Settings"

Your custom template will be used every time you click ✉ Request Intro on any lead.

💡 Tips for Best Results

Choose active COIs: The more active someone is on LinkedIn, the more engagement data we can analyze. Look for COIs who post and comment regularly.

Be specific in your target criteria: The more detail you provide about your ideal client (titles, industries, company size) in Settings > Target Criteria, the better our AI scores leads.

Request 2-3 intros per week: Consistency compounds. Even a few intro requests per week builds a steady pipeline over time.

Use the vote buttons: Thumbs up/down on leads helps us learn what a good lead looks like for you.

Share reports: Each report has a shareable link. Send it to your COI to show them the value of their network — it strengthens the relationship.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an analysis take?

About 4-5 minutes. You'll see real-time progress on screen. You'll also get an email when it's complete.

How many credits do I have?

Check your credit balance in the sidebar or on Settings. Each analysis costs 1 credit. New accounts start with 2 free credits.

What's a Center of Influence (COI)?

Someone in your network whose connections could be valuable to you. Think: referral partners, strategic allies, well-connected peers, past clients with big networks.

Does this work for any LinkedIn profile?

The profile must be public or semi-public. Private profiles with no visible activity will return limited results.

Is this LinkedIn automation?

No. We don't log into your LinkedIn account. We analyze publicly available data (posts, reactions, comments) to identify engagement patterns. No connection requests are sent. No messages are sent. No LinkedIn ToS are violated.

How do I get more credits?

Contact your account manager or visit Settings > Subscription & Billing to purchase additional credits.

Paste the LinkedIn profile URL. We process one new queued COI daily at 7 AM ET, and every scheduled run uses 1 credit. Brand new queues stay paused until you explicitly start or reorder them.

Intro Request Email

Configure how "Request Intro" emails work. When you click ✉ Request Intro on a lead, it opens your email client with this template pre-filled.

Enter the email you send intro requests from. We'll auto-detect your email client (Gmail, Outlook, etc.).
Auto-detect uses your email domain. Override if your company uses a custom domain with Gmail or Outlook.
Use these variables: {coi_first} {coi_name} {prospect_name} {prospect_first}
